What is JUG?

Java User Group (JUG) is a collaborative community of Java™ developers who meet to discuss Java™ technologies and associated tools. Members of JUG normally gather every month and discuss topics that are closely connected with the Java language or development methodology and best practices. The core principle behind JUG is to share valuable knowledge and experiences in a very casual and relax atmosphere and also usually accompanied by pizzas.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to bring together Java™ programmers, Java™ users, and Java™-driven companies  so that we can favor the growth of the Java industry in Mauritius. We aim to meet and share ideas, thoughts, experiences and best practices on how to best implement Java™ technologies.

Mauritius Java™ User Group

Mauritius JavaUser Group (MuJUG) is a non-profit organization that actively supports the professional advance of the Mauritian developers. It works for encouragement of experience exchange between them and improvement of their knowledge and skills in the area of software design and development.

The purpose of the group is to provide a platform where anyone who has an interest in Java™ can get together and share their experience and expertise. This is the place to discuss the problems arising from our day to day projects, and the new buzzwords we hear everyday around new technologies. We intend to organize workshops and seminars on the new developments around the Java™ language and its related technologies, API's and products.

We strongly think that the Mauritian JavaIndustry has a very bright future and that it can fulfil its potential if given a proper guidance and a healthy contribution of the local Javaleaders.
